Gaye Pereira-Jackson

Gaye Pereira-Jackson (Boltong)

is a self-confessed travel addict and self taught artist. Her first travel adventures in 1971 began in a Kombi van in Melbourne, continued through Asia, Middle East, Eastern Bloc countries, Europe and Africa! In that 2.5 year overland trip, she covered thousands of kilometres, visited sixty-four countries, took hundreds of photographs and returned with armfuls of exciting memories!

Then with a young family, she moved to Indonesia in 1975 to a new job, life and her art journey. Gaye enjoyed her painting holidays in Spain, Tuscany and France which taught her the basics of using various art media so she could translate her feelings onto canvas and paper. After 27 years as an expat teacher/Principal at an International School, Gaye retired and returned to Melbourne to a spend time with her grandchildren, her garden, her art and the luxury of doing as she pleases!

Gaye has run many Bali Painting Holidays where she took like-minded artists to Bali and introduced them to the culture, the people, and the fantastic places perfect for plein air painting. Unfortunately, with the arrival of Covid, she has stopped running these trips, Gaye has been a member of Sunbury Art Society for many years and is currently the President of Hobsons Bay Art Society. She has had 4 solo art exhibitions, been part of a group exhibition twice and entered numerous local and regional art shows where she has received many awards for her work. Many of her paintings now hang in homes in Europe, America, Asia and here in Australia.
