Anna Violette

I'm Anna Violette, I specialise in abstract and half-abstract painting with acrylics. I occasionally use oil paint and other media, and I’m also into nature photography. I describe my art as “Transformational Art”.
I draw my inspiration from nature: the earth, the sea, the elements and the cosmos - as well as from my inner world. My process of making art is intuitive and free flowing.

I grew up in the mountainous area of South Tyrol in Italy and I have been creating art in different forms ever since I can remember. I'm self-taught for the most part, though I have briefly attended some courses and classes that have helped me develop my artistic skills.

I got introduced to abstract painting when I attended an art and design course at the School of Design in Basel, Switzerland, and I discovered my passion for this medium. I went through a tough time emotionally while I was at art school and painting helped me process my emotions and transform them into something beautiful. It felt very therapeutic and healing. That’s where the term “Transformational Art” comes from.

I always struggled being in school environments, so after the first semester I quit the course and continued to paint on my own. I moved to England and began to establish myself as an artist there. I promoted my artwork through social media, which can be a good tool to share one’s art with the world. I did some commissions for people, which I really enjoyed. My paintings evolved and I experimented with some new styles, such as half-abstract portraits.

I came to Australia in 2022 and I’m gradually establishing myself over here as an artist. I’ve had some of my paintings exhibited at the Louis Joel Gallery in Altona and would like to exhibit more of my artwork in the future.
My goal is always to bring my art to the right people – those who really feel it, connect with it, and get something out of it. That’s what it means to me to be a successful artist!
